Thanks to the Cohen Media Group, fans of one utterly fantastic, nearly lost film will no longer be left out in the cold. THE OLD DARK HOUSE  (1932) is coming to DVD and 4k Bluray on Oct. 24th and I COULDN’T BE MORE EXCITED!

Adapted from J.B. Priestley’s novel “Benighted” and directed by James Whale (FRANKENSTEIN, 1931 & BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN, 1935) THE OLD DARK HOUSE is a horror/mystery film, seasoned with a healthy dash of dark wit.

"It's only gin, you know. Only gin. I like gin."
                ~Ernest Thesiger as Horace Femm

Gloria Stewart (THE INVISIBLE MAN 1933 ) and Melvyn Douglas (NINOTCHKA, 1939) lead a wonderful cast that seem to chew through both dialog and the deliciously gloomy scenery with equal relish.

Also featured here are memorable performances by the inimitable Charles Laughton (MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY, 1935 & ISLAND OF LOST SOULS, 1932), Ernest Thesiger (BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN, 1935) and of course, horror icon Boris Karloff, fresh from his breakout turn as Frankenstein’s monster.
